Picture this: It’s 3 AM, you’re caffeinated to the eyeballs, trying to predict the next big thing in AI-powered cat toys. (Don’t judge, it could be huge!)

If you’re like me, you’ve gone down the rabbit hole of trend reports. Spoiler alert: they’re about as exciting as watching paint dry on a quantum computer. Always outdated, too broad, or just plain snooze-fests. And let’s not forget the cherry on top: half the time, the data is so irrelevant, it might as well be predicting the fashion trends of Martian rock formations.

But what if you could whip up your own trend radar faster than you can say “neural network”? A radar that’s always up-to-date and actually relevant to your burning questions? No soul-selling to coding gods required!

We’re about to build a trend radar so cool, it’ll make those fancy consulting firm reports look like stone tablet etchings. Whether you’re a tech wizard or think Python is just a large snake, this guide’s got you covered.

Check out my “AI Marketing Trends” radar for reference!

1. Set Up Your Google Sheet

  • Clear all entries (except headers) from the “Entities” tab.

2. Create a make.com Account and Import the Workflow

  • Sign up or log in to make.com.
  • Create a new scenario and import this blueprint using the “Import Blueprint” option under CONTROLS.
  • After import you should see a scenario like this.

3. Google Sheets Setup

  • In the make.com scenario, click the Google Sheets icon.
  • Set up a connection to your Google account.
  • Enter your Drive and Spreadsheet ID as the path to your copied spreadsheet.

4. Perplexity AI Setup

  • Create an account on perplexity.ai.
  • Add credits to your account ($5 should suffice for about 150 executions).
  • Generate an API key in your Perplexity settings.
  • Update the Perplexity configuration in your make.com scenario with your API key. (As with the Google Sheet above)

5. ChatGPT Setup

  • Add billing information and credits in the Billing settings.
  • Update the ChatGPT configuration in your make.com scenario with your API key.

6. Run Your Workflow

  • In make.com, click the “Run once” button to start your workflow.
  • Watch as your Google Sheet populates with trend data for each quadrant.

5. Visualize Your Trend Radar

  • Create a shareable link for your Google Sheet.
  • Visit https://radar.ingo-eichhorst.de/ and paste your spreadsheet link.
  • Click “Build my Radar” to generate and explore your custom trend visualization.

6. Customizing Your Radar

To tailor your trend radar to specific topics or time frames:

  1. In make.com, locate the “Tools” task in your scenario.
  2. Modify the “Topic” or “Timespan” fields as desired.
  3. Re-run your workflow to generate fresh, targeted trend data.
  4. Feeling like an advanced hacker? You may want to reconfigure the Perplexity prompts in make.com for fine-tuning your result.

Conclusion: Congrats, Trend Guru!

Holy smokes, you did it! You’ve just MacGyver-ed your way into creating an AI-powered crystal ball. It’s like having a time machine, minus the risk of becoming your own grandfather. (Trust me, that’s a headache for another day.)

This isn’t just some fancy chart — it’s your window into the chaotic future of whatever hooks you up. Predicting meme stocks? Figuring out when your toaster become sentient? Your trend radar’s got your back.

Now, I’m not saying you’ll be the next Nostradamus overnight. But you’ll definitely be the coolest cat at your next office party. Sorry, Dave from accounting — your spreadsheet breakthrough will have to wait.

So, what are you waiting for? Push this baby to its limits!

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to see if “AI-generated excuses for missed deadlines” will be the next big thing. (Fingers crossed!)

Happy trend-hunting, you magnificent future-wizard!
